First we met and did not want anything to do with each other.
Then almost 2 years later we went to watch a cricket match together.
We started dating in March 2017.
We got engaged in September 2017.
And then we got married in June 2018.
Oh, I forgot, we set our wedding date on the 16th of June 2017. Haha We did everything different than usual.
It was the most beautiful day. Where the wind is always howling at the venue there was not even a breeze. Where it was looking like rain, there was not a single drop.
We had fantastic company. Our photographer was so much fun to have around. We were surrounded by our friends and family and it was the party of the year-for sure.
It was exactly as we imagined it to be, the only thing we regret is that it went by so fast. Sometime I wish we could make time stand still.
I would love to share some photo’s and of course mention the wonderful people who made me feel like a princess.
Our Venue: Windfarm Venue and Accomodation
Tannie Bokkie and her husband was wonderful, warm and friendly. They helped where ever they could and nothing was ever to much. Thank you for making us feel right at home! Oh and just a side bit- we were the first couple to get married there who is not family. And of course Bella-thank you for the suggestion!
The Catering: Kallie from The Southern Smoke catered for us and the food was devine!
The Dessert and Wedding Cake: As a gift with love from my cousin, sister in law and Etienne’s mom.
My dress: Bride & Co-Canal Walk
The ladies were very helpful and friendly. It took me less than an hour to find my dress and I loved it!
All we can say is – comfortable and snazzy!
My earrings and arm band: by the lovely Magdel Kinghorn from MK Handmade Jewellery
Photographer: The awesome Corli from Corli Sadie – Kreatiewe Dromer
Our wedding bands: Keder LH Manufacturing Jewellers
I would like to share the story behind my engagement ring. This was made in 1970 by Mr Keder’s father. It was Etienne’s mom’s engagement ring and his dad had it made especially and exclusively for her. There is only one. Etienne’s wedding band was made in 1912 and was his great grandfather’s ring. They had to cut it when he passed away but Mr Keder mended it and you can not even see where it was cut. This is history and so special to both of us.
Accommodation: Darling Lodge Guest House
I had the privilege to make use of Darling Lodge for my night before the wedding, getting ready and using the garden for taking some pictures. Stephan and his team are fantastic and I would definitely recommend them if you are ever in the area.
We are blessed to have had such a beautiful day. Here is to many more happy years.
Just before I go. This has to be my favourite photo of all. Etienne and I did not see each other before the church on our wedding day and this was taken with literally just the door between the two of each. Oh my word how much we wanted to peek!
